Princess Diana by Berenice Garcia

                                                           Introduction

Princess Diana, who died in a car crash inside of the tunnel of Seine in Paris on August, 31 1997, was part of the Royal Family of Wales (Craig 1). She was married for a couple of years to Prince Charles and later on divorced but left behind two children from that marriage. Later on, she found a new lover, Dodi, and was going to be engaged when the automobile accident occurred (Vatu 7). After her death, many conspiracy theories were created:

1.      Was it the intoxicated drivers fault?

2.      Was it the Ml6?

3.      Was the royal family involved?

Let’s take a look at Princess Diana and the conspiracy theories around her death that Sunday night.

                                              Princess Diana’s character analysis

Princess Diana was a loving mother of two children. She took her sons out for hamburgers and let them wear jeans and baseball caps (“Princess Diana, the Model Mother of Prince William and Harry”). When her son William fractured his skull from an accident at school. Princess Diana was the one that stayed at the hospital all night during his operation (1).She was the mother that would do anything for her children and always had a smile for them, a smile that will lighten any dark heart (1).

Even thought she was a loving mother she was in searched for happiness in her marriage (“Princess Diana, the Model Mother of Prince William and Harry”).  Her husband Prince Charles had a mistress named Camilla who he saw and talked to on a regular. Because of these actions, Princess Diana attempted to commit suicide a couple of times by throwing herself down the stairs and harming herself with multiple objects because of her unhappiness with her husband (“Princess Diana”).To the media and the public, Princess Diana was a happy woman but on the inside she was dying (“Princess Diana Biography”) .

                                Three conspiracy theories

In Princess Diana’s death, three conspiracy theories are discussed. One of the theories involves an intoxicated driver and the car crash being an accident. However, two of the conspiracy theories involves the Ml6 or the royal family being at fault.

The first conspiracy theory proposes that Henri Paul a French military pilot, was intoxicated when he hit the wall of the Paris tunnel (“Bell”). He was a former employee at the Ritz hotel where Diana and he lover where having dinner. While they were eating, Diana’s daily chauffeur was sent on an endless duck chase around the town with the photographers. Leaving Diana without a driver, she asked the main security sheriff to find her a driver and a car to take her home (“Princess Diana’s driver was drunk when she died in 1997”). Paul, a bachelor that has been working at the hotel since 1986, was the right man for the job, because there had been no problems with his behavior since he’s been working at the hotel (1).He was off duty that night but was called at the last minute to drive the couple home. Paul was going as fast as 120mph in the tunnel when he crashed (1). Districts attorneys commented, that the blood test that was taken from the French pilot had an equivalent of ten glasses of wine and nine immense shots of whiskey in his system(1). That was three times more than the French alcohol limit (1). He did not obtain a chauffeur licenses but had been trainer to drive a heavily armed Mercedes in an anti-terrorist maneuvers (1).Out of twenty people surveyed, twelve agreed that princess Diana’s death was not an accident. Who is at fault?

The second conspiracy theory involves MI6 being part of the car crash when Princess Diana died (“Princess Diana Death: SAS were in the Alma Tunnel”). MI6 had been watching Diana and observing her every move before she died. The day of her death security cameras shows that Diana was being followed by a group called the SAS who has sent by the MI6 to take the Princess down(1). When Diana and her lover were on their way home in the Mercedes, SAS disguised as motorcycle riders following the car she was in (1). The motorcycle riders, shinned a bright light in the Mercedes as they were in the tunnel, moment before the car crash, causing the driver to be completely blinded (1). After the crash the solders swore their oath to secrecy about the princess death, but one soldier told his mother about the accident that occurred (1).

The last conspiracy theory blames the royal family for Diana’s death. After Diana got married to Prince Charles, it was a fairytale, and everything was perfect with the queen (“Princess Diana 2016/ secret British royal- The death of Princess Diana”). Then, the truth was discovered that her happiness was not all unicorns and rainbow. As her relationship with Charles failed, so did the relationship with the queen. After they got divorced, Diana met the men she was going to get married with, and the royal family could not permit that marriage to happen because he was a Muslim (1).The British family felt treated by the romantic couple because having a Muslim member in the royal family will be a dangerous threat to the state. Therefore, the conspiracy says that the royal family contacted the MI6 to cause the car crash that ended up killing everyone in the car (1).

                                                     Conclusion

After examining the death of Princess Diana, three conspiracies theories are left to contemplate:

1.      Was it the intoxicated drivers fault?

2.      Was it the Ml6?

3.      Was the royal family involved?

Today, nineteen years after she died, Princess Diana’s death remains an unsolved mystery and continues to confuse friends and her loving fans. However, it’s likely that the Royal Family is the key to solving the case of her death.

Introduction

Princess Diana was a member of the royal family who died from a car crash in 1997        (“Princess Diana Biography”). Did Princess Diana really die from the car crash or did she fake her death? Princess Diana parents divorced when she was young and her father won custody over her (“Princess Diana News”). Since then, several conspiracy theories developed:

1.      Did Princess Diana fake her death?

2.      Did Princess Diana pass away from the car crash in 1997?

3.      Was M16 involved with the death of Princess Diana?

Let’s take a look at Princess Diana and the conspiracies theories surrounding her death, with the most plausible solution of her death from the car crash that happened in 1997.

Princess Diana Analysis

Princess Diana was known for her shyness growing up (“Princess Diana Biography”). Princess Diana epitomised feminine beauty and glamour (“Princess Diana Short Biography”). Diana did not shine well as a student, but did well in music and ballet (“Princess Diana Short Biography”).   Princess Diana, a British royalty was born on June 1, 1961, near Sandringham, England (“Princess Diana Biography”). Princess Diana, a quiet and reserved child, had a happy home life until she was eight years old, when her parents went through a bitter divorce (“Princess of Wales Diana Biography”). She was educated first at Riddlesworth Hall and then went to boarding school at West Heath School (“Princess Diana Biography”). To overcome her internal shyness, Princess Diana began to interact with children by eventually becoming a kindergarten teacher at the Young England School (“Princess Diana Biography”).

Princess Diana became involved in many external charitable causes over the years (“Princess of Wales Diana Biography”). She was one of the very first high profile people to be pictured touching those afflicted with AIDS (“Princess Diana Charity Work”).  This had a significant impact in changing people’s opinions and attitudes to the disease (1). It was certainly a charity not following the protocol and tradition of the Royal family (1). In 1990, People magazine noted, Diana was involved with forty-four charities, making more than 180 visits on their behalf the previous year (“Princess of Wales Diana Biography”). A few of the charity works that Princess Diana was involved in were: Landmines and Explosive Remnants of War, Palliative Care and Prisoners’ Families (“Princess Diana Charity Work”). Princess Diana being involved in charity work has made her shyness disappear; now she is a person that is all over media.

The Princess Diana Conspiracy Theories

Conspiracy Description (Main Idea and Details with Survey Results)

In the death case of Princess Diana, three conspiracy theories are highlighted. The first theory was that Princess Diana faked her own death, the second theory was that Princess Diana pass away from the car crash in 1997, and the last theory was that M16 was involved in the death of Princess Diana.

The first conspiracy theory proposes that Princess Diana faked her own death. In 1995 she (Princess Diana) wrote a note to her butler Paul Burrell saying that someone in the Establishment was ‘planning an accident in my car, brake failure and serious head injury’   (What If Diana Had Faked Her Own Death and Is Living under a False Identity in Small-town America). Princess Diana not only suspects, she is totally convinced that she will be assassinated by the secret service (1). From my survey six out of fourteen college students at College of the Mainland thinks that Princess Diana faked her death.

The second conspiracy theory says that Princess Diana death had to do with the accident that happened in 1997. Diana died in a car crash after trying to escape the paparazzi in Paris on the night of August 30, 1997 (Princess Diana Biography). Diana initially survived the crash, but later succumbed to her injuries at a Paris hospital a few hours later (1). Al-Fayed and the driver were also killed, and a bodyguard was seriously injured (1). French authorities investigated the crash and the driver was found to have a high level of alcohol in his system at the time of the accident (1). Nineteen percent of people believe that Henri Paul, who died driving the car Diana was in when she also died, was in the pay of a national security service (Thirty-eight percent of Brits Think Princess Diana’s Death ‘NOT an Accident’’’).

The last conspiracy theory points to the involvement of M16 in Princess Diana death. The presence of the secret intelligence officers has been used by Mohammed Al-Fayed to support his allegation that his son and Diana were murdered by M16 as part of a conspiracy involving the Royal Family (Robert Verkaik 1). Mr. Al-Fayed believes M16 officers used stun guns in the Paris road tunnel on the night of August 31, 1997 to blind the driver of the car carrying Dodi and the princess, causing him to crash into one of the pillars (1). Mr. Al-Fayed also claims the driver of the Mercedes in which the couple were traveling was an agent working for M16 and evidence was tampered with to portray him as a drunken driver (1). Twenty five percent of people think that M16 was involved in Princess Diana’s death (Thirty-eight percent of Brits Think Princess Diana’s Death ‘NOT an Accident’’’).

Others Surveys of Princess Diana Conspiracy Theories

Thirty-three percent of people thinks that Princess Diana was assassinated (Thirty-eight percent of Brits Think Princess Diana’s Death ‘NOT an Accident’’’). Twenty-five percent of people believed that Princess Diana was pregnant with Dodi Fayed’s child (1). Sixteen percent of people believed the SAS was involved in Princess Diana’s death (1). In the last survey fourteen percent of people believed that Princess Diana’s seatbelt had been sabotaged (1).

Conclusion

Did Princess Diana really die from the car crash or did she fake her death? Several conspiracy theories developed:

1.      Did Princess Diana fake her death?

2.      Did Princess Diana pass away from the car crash in 1997?

3.      Was M16 involved with the death of Princess Diana?

Nearly nineteen years after the woman who would now be a royal grandmother died in Paris, the case remains unsolved. However, all the facts leads to Princess Diana being assassinated in general.
